Dr. Darren K. DicksonDDS
From the time I was in high school, I knew I wanted to be a dentist. What I enjoy most about it is the ability to help people.
One of the most gratifying things about being a dentist is when you see someone that is either in pain, or is simply not happy with some aesthetic aspect of themselves, and to have that special ability to be able to fix their pain, or change their overall perception of themselves for the better is an extremely powerful thing.
Hello Internet People! My name is Rachel, and I was born in Guantanamo, Cuba. Political upheaval from the island forced my family to move to Dallas when I was only one year old.
I earned my registered dental assistant degree from Texas College of Medical and Dental Assisting in 1984 and gained experience working as an assistant in oral surgery, periodontal surgery and general dentistry.
I then started tackling the insurance companies and am now Dr. Dickson’s insurance coordinator.
In 2005, I became an advocate for children, creating awareness of the danger in and around vehicles. I do this in memory of my lovely daughter Adrianna.
In 2006 I accompanied former Senator Hillary Clinton, Rep Peter King and the organization Kids and Cars, to introduce Kids and Cars Safety Act HR Bill 1216. In 2013, President Barack Obama signed the bill into law. This law requires all vehicles be equipped with a rearview camera as a standard feature.
With over 20 years of experience in the dental field, I’ve done close to every job there is. I started my career as a dental assistant and through hard work, moved up to management.
I’ve been trained by dental consulting firms to manage and implement systems and protocols.
In my spare time I like to spend time with my family and friends. I have a brand new puppy named Rebel that my family and I rescued.
My favorite part of my job is all the relationships I get to make.
