Laminate Veneers

Facts Regarding Indirect Porcelain Laminate Veneers

  • Laminates are made of glass and can break.  If this should occur, the laminate can be repaired or replaced.  One of the most important things one can do to prevent breakage is to wear a nightguard at night. One good night of bruxism could potentially chip or break a laminate due to the terrific pressure applied to the teeth when one bruxes or clenches ones teeth while sleeping.  If you have been placed in a nightguard, wear it every night. Avoid biting into hard objects with your front teeth.  Laminates are strong, but cannot withstand great stress in an outward direction.
  • Should you break or chip laminate, there is no charge for repair or replacement with the first year unless the breakage occurs from an accident.  If a laminate should chip or break, during the second or third year of use, the only charge would be the laboratory fee.  After three years, repair or replacement is performed at full laminate fee less 20% discount.
