Striving to deliver whiter, brilliant smiles in Plano, Texas.
Whitening your teeth can have a powerful effect on your smile in just an hour. Whether you just need to spruce up your pearly whites for a big event, or if you want to put a finishing touch on a smile makeover, teeth whitening can meet your needs.
Patients may pursue teeth whitening for any number of reasons. As you age, your teeth grow dingy as enamel gets thinner, exposing the yellow dentin below. Habits like drinking tea, coffee or red wine can also leave telltale stains on the teeth.
In some cases, patients may just be unsatisfied with the natural shade of their teeth and want to enhance it.
ZOOM! Teeth Whitening
My Dentist in Plano offers the ZOOM! Teeth Whitening system, which can help patients in any of these scenarios and many others.
With ZOOM!, a special light is used to activate the peroxide bleaching gel applied to the patient’s teeth. This process allows the gel to penetrate the teeth and remove the stains more efficiently than if it were used alone. After about an hour under the light, the patient receives a fluoride treatment and goes home with a more attractive smile!
To supplement the in-office treatment, ZOOM! patients receive a take-home kit for periodic touch-ups. That kit contains a set of custom-designed whitening trays and gels that can be used as needed. Typically, patients only need to use that kit once a year to maintain the new shade achieved during the initial treatment.
While ZOOM! is safe for the vast majority of patients, certain groups may not be candidates for the treatment, including women who are pregnant or breastfeeding, children under age 13 and certain individuals with light sensitivity.
